It has already been a few months since I last wrote something here, so it was about time. And what is a better reason to write something again than a new record from Epica!
Finally, it has been released. Just over a year ago “The Gathering” celebrated their 25th anniversary with a special concert at the Doornroosje venue in Nijmegen. It was one of their best gigs ever. And today we can finally listen to it again through physical and digital means.
Sometimes when you start watching a movie, you known within minutes how it’s going to end. ‘The Beast With A Million Eyes’ is such a case, and than some. Not does it only explain the entire plot of the movie during the opening, it also shatters an illusion.
For a few years now I’ve been a dedicated listener off the Film Sack podcast. For those that are not familiar with it, it’s a weekly show in which 4 dudes watch and review a movie from the depths of movie history, a long forgotten horror flick from the seventies, or an under appreciated gem from last year. Last week it featured “The Angry Red Planet”, and I also couldn’t leave this science-fiction vehicle untouched.
For those that missed it last Friday, if there is one band out there who is generous it has to be “The Gathering”. As always they have been so friendly and made their new album “Disclosure” available on their Bandcamp page for all to stream.
