It’s been quiet on my blog for a while now. Due to all sorts of personal circumstances, I just never got around to picking up the pen again over the past period. With some peace and quiet returning, it was time to slowly pick up the thread again. Starting with some much-needed maintenance on eranum.nl.
Commit, merge, push!#
When I set up the site in its current form, and especially the bilingual setup, I chose a not very handy structure in hindsight. Both versions lived under their own separate structure. Hugo supports that just fine, but it also meant that everything in the source had to be duplicated. Including all images and associated files. Not very practical for long-term maintenance, let alone the extra storage it takes up in the git repository.
Time for a different approach, then. It took an evening of hard work, but as you read this, the two structures have been merged. 💪 Now only the texts still need to be maintained separately. And since I was at it anyway, I went ahead and updated Blowfish to v3 with a fresh coat of paint. 🖌️
