Migrate?#
You won’t say from the number of posts currently on the site. But way back when I started blogging I started with WordPress. Because of convenience I just sticked with it through the years. It did what it had to do, serve noncence to whoever wanted to read it. But over the years I never was really happy with it. It looked nice, but behind the scenes it always felt clunky to me for what I wanted to do with it, just write. And when they changed to the Gutenberg editor, I threw the towel into the ring.
Migrate!#
So, here we are. A brand new place, a new canvas, and a new look. WordPress replaced by Hugo and Blowfish. Why Hugo you ask? Well, for some time now I’ve slowly been writing more and more in markdown. I replaced OneNote with Obsidian so I thought. Why not just build my blog in markdown also? So here we are. Plain good old markdown converted with Hugo to a static site. Isn’t that awesome!
Only one downside… a whole lot of posts to convert and republish. And a nice list of things to find out and todo. For instance create a nice “write-render-upload”-flow with less manual steps. Well, a to-do list can’t be empty…
