VUUR – Days Go By – London

If there is one release I’ve been really looking forward to, it has to be the debut album from VUUR. The new band with veteran Anneke van Giersbergen (ex-The Gathering) on vocals. Their first album is set to release this fall. VUUR will hit some summer festivals and an European tour as support for Epica later this year. So if you can, go check them out.

To ease the waiting VUUR released their first single today called “Days Go By – London”. Anneke said the following about the song: “The lyrical content of the album is inspired by the many cities I have visited while being on the road. The song ‘Days Go By – London’ is about The Great Fire in 1666. The lyrics are written from the perspective of the element of Fire, threatening Londoners to wipe them out, but the song is also about hope. Even in the darkest of times, the sun will rise.”

I personally can’t wait to hear all the songs!

Geek, Weeb, Metalhead, Tuba Player & Couchpotato. That pretty much sums me up. Although some people also call me 'Party', 'Gargamel' and 'The Listmaster'. Anyhow, that's me, 36 years old and crazy enough to write about all kinds of crap. My music taste you ask? That's simple: True Skaro Wookie-Fronted Klingon Metal. As long as it's loud. Rock and geek on!
